Designed in the middle of a small forest, surrounded by greenery, a river, a national park dhe the Adriatic sea, the hotel was once Count Ciano’s villa. The italian foreign minister build this amazing villa in 1939 and he designed it as Hunting Hotel
Ciano once invited to this villa many Italian personalities and friends from different countries, as well as the main planners of military, strategic and diplomatic operations of the Duche’s.
Later, in the time of communism, she was visited by the red nomenclature, where her characters hunted birds and wildlife of the lagoon.
The aim in building such a hotel was to promote the tourism of hunting enthusiasts and for this purpose a special manual for hunting in Albania in those years would be published.
In July 1940, the area where the hotel was built was declared a hunting reserve, thus becoming the first protected area in Albania. During its construction, several criteria were taken into account, among which the harmonization with the environment and the respect of the local tradition of construction with stone and wood.
With the former structure, it is the same one-storey building, that hall, the rooms with numbers on them, that narrow corridor, that parquet, everything made of perennial planks, characteristic of the Hunting Hotel, as well as the extraordinary nature that surrounds it.
The Hunters Hotel on the Island of Lezha has its own history and architectural value, which it still preserves to this day, thanks to the careful investment and authentic reconstruction that has been done, as it was for the most part totally destroyed.
The investments that have been made, have turned today the resort into a function both as a hotel and as a restaurant, where dishes are served with traditional products of the area, but above all with outdoor spaces, where work has been done in every part for greenery, preservation of wild fauna and indigenous vegetation.
